NSW: Meeting to address fatal childhood accidents

Research shows easily preventable accidents kill almost 300 Australian children a year
.. and are the major cause of death among youngsters.

The World Health Organisation report estimates accidents send 66 thousand Australian
children to hospital each year .. costing the community billions of dollars.

Road traffic accidents .. drowning .. burns .. falls and poisoning are the top five
causes of unintentional injury.

Medical and injury risk specialists will meet this week to discuss the findings.
